Filmmaker Panel - Open and Honest Sharing Of Movie Making Process

Queens Underground International Black and Brown Film Festival - April 2021 Season had the pleasure of Screening incredible Films and the Highlight of the Festival Days was the Saturday Filmmakers Panel with Movie and Documentary Producers and Directors.

LL Cool J, RUN DMC, 50 Cent, Q Tip, Niki Minage, Ja Rule, Damon John and anchorman Al Roker are among the famous Jamaica, Queens natives a few generations after other legendary notables such as W.E.B. Dubois, Fats Waller, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown, Miles Davis, Coltrane, Count Basie, Billie Holiday, Theresa Merritt, Hank Aaron, Jackie Robinson, with Duke Ellington also known as a famous Queens, NY resident.  

From singers to musicians, rappers to designers, journalists to filmmakers, documentarians, event promoters, Southeast Queens is one of the most historic areas in the country. The Queens Underground FIlm Festival presents a unique platform where all of the Genres and Categories are included along with showcases Entrepreneurs and Community Organizations. 

The Filmmakers Panel was a hit where the directors and producers were able to openly share their experiences, process and favorite movies.  Hosted by Dwayne Parker, a local high school guidance counselor, filmmaker, producer and actor, QU is hoping to have Dwayne lead the October Panel and perhaps a few Filmmaker Workshops over the Summer Months.
